Property is the hot cake in North Cyprus?

North Cyprus is the hot spot destination for another reason as well. Property dealing is booming at present with several investing in properties for spending a quiet holiday or for retirees who wish to spend their lives far from the hustle and bustle of metropolitans. You can experience the pleasure of the untouched shorelines, beautiful weather all year long and affordable property prices. You can choose the locations either that overlook the mountain ranges or beside the beautiful beaches looking into the horizon.

Topography

This is a spectacular island where you can experience both the mountainous terrains and the arid plains in the same area. The Troodoos mountains in the center and the Southwest regions are snow capped in winter and have a dense growth of pine trees. The Girne Range is juxtaposed with the northern coast which has a coastal plain that runs between the range and the sea.

The Range between the central plain and the northern coast gives each a distinctive feature. The vegetation in the northern slopes consists of cypress and pine forests while the southern slopes are dotted with scrubs. Due to the formation of limestone there are some breathtaking mountain views with a range of sceneries.

The coastal areas of the Northern Range are fertile and the sides have dense woods. Below the woods you will find barren lands.

Flora

As diverse is its topography, the flora is also varied and plentiful. The valleys of North Cyprus are filled with 400 species of anemones which are a treat to the botanists. The best time when the flora is in full bloom is during spring. North Cyprus is filled with different hues and variety in the flower kingdom. By late February the flowers are less, and in April, due to enormous heat the flower season comes to an end.

Herbarium

North Cyprus boasts of a herbarium, which enthralls wildflower lovers and also provides research for botanists. This center started by the Forestry Department has species of nearly 1250 native plants. There are special photographic displays of various types of flowers, photographs of the 17 species of trees that grow only in this area and nowhere else in the world and collections of massive fruit.

You can access the herbarium by either a coastal road, or a mountain road or a tarmac road to the mountain ridge in the Alevkaya Forest Station where the herbarium is kept. The best road is via the mountain which is narrow and gives you spellbinding views along the route.

Wildflowers

There are a number of wildflowers adding to the scenic beauty of the island with its colour in May and June. You can find the friar’s cowl or the monk’s cowl the yellow oxalis which is growing in abundance, the wild rock rose covering the hillsides and the edges. The rock roses which are yellow and white in colour resemble poached eggs when in full bloom otherwise it looks like wild sage. The Taurus rock rose is a flower with thin petals and is deep purplish or pinkish in colour with a dark colour leaf. The pink rock rose’s colour is dark pink and the leaf is grayish green.
